Our knowledge of real estate and architectural heritage in Bordeaux
The architectural heritage of Bordeaux presents a great unity, which has earned it its inscription on the UNESCO world heritage list. In the old town (Port de la Lune) and the old suburbs, there are many buildings in the Haussmann, classical and neo-classical styles of blond stone.
Regarding individual residential housing, échoppe type of houses constitutes the most typical construction in Bordeaux and neighboring municipalities. These low and deep town houses have a certain character, but often require redesign work to make them practical on a daily basis.
The Bordeaux metropolitan area has been subject to rapid urban sprawl. On the real estate market, there are old Gironde houses and pavilions from the second half of the 20th century which can be subject to interior renovation, an extension or an elevation, and whose garden can benefit from the expertise of a landscaper.
